Iveco Daily Campervan Interior

This camper’s aesthetic is a masterclass in eclectic, urban rustic design, evoking the feel of a deeply personal and handcrafted cabin.

The dominant tone is set by a stunning array of reclaimed and antique wood, including British red western cedar cladding from Taunton Oak, and 19th Century walnut feature panels.

This rich, warm backdrop is artfully contrasted with vibrant touches like the plush blue velvet upholstery and a beautiful floral features to the side and rear doors.

Standout features include the live-edge worktop, a retro-style sage-green Swan fridge, and bespoke copper fittings, all of which contribute to the immersive, bohemian vibe curated by the wizards at Vanart.

Motorhome Conversion Layout

  • ↠ Compact linear kitchen
    ↠ Sofa-style corner seating
    ↠ Concealed bathtub
↠ Fixed double bed, east to west (sleeps 2)
    ↠ Log burner
    ↠ Side-door swing
    ↠ Spacious garage
    ↠ Outdoor shower
    ↠ Door to cab

The layout is a masterclass in maximising a limited footprint with creative flair. It forgoes a traditional layout to create distinct, intimate zones that flow from front to back.

The central living space is defined by the cosy mid-van corner seating, a compact linear kitchen, and log burner. This creates a highly functional and inviting social hub at the heart of the van.

A truly unique feature is the concealed bathtub, tucked neatly beneath the fixed double bed. This allows for a welcome luxury without sacrificing precious floor space.

The fact that Vanart have managed to incorporate this in to the layout of a long-wheelbase van is nothing short of genius. The only time we have ever seen a bath on one of our van tours before was in this Skoolie conversion with bath – where they had a whole lot more space to work with.

Seating & Sleeping

  • ↠ Sofa-style corner seating, converts to additional bed
↠ Fixed double bed, east to west (sleeps 2)

The central living space in this Daily van is defined by a sofa-style corner seating arrangement, which creates an inviting lounge for relaxing. The plush blue velvet upholstery offers a striking modern contrast to the rustic wood cladding, and can convert into an extra bed.

For sleeping, a fixed double bed is positioned east-to-west at the rear of the van. This bed is purposefully built slightly higher than a typical configuration to allow for the ingenious concealed bath beneath it.

Additionally, there are handcrafted alcoves to the header and footer to allow extra space for deep slumbers.

This unique and luxurious design is only possible thanks to the Iveco Daily’s renowned generous internal height.

The extra volume provides the necessary space for both a raised bed and a bath, setting this van apart other vanlife favourites – such as high-roof Sprinter conversions.

Access to the bed is via bespoke wooden steps, which are beautifully integrated into the build. These steps are more than just functional, as they also feature cleverly concealed drawer storage.

Plumbing & Bathroom

  • ↠ 130cm concealed bathtub.
    ↠ Imass instantaneous water boiler.
    ↠ 110-litre fresh water tank.
    ↠ 60-litre waste water tank.
    ↠ Handheld shower head.
↠ Outdoor shower (in the rear garage).
↠ Cedar bath lid / shower enclosure.
    ↠ Bespoke brass plumbing fittings.
    ↠ Tiled bath surround.
    ↠ Hatch door (for bath).

This build redefines the campervan bathroom with its most innovative feature: a 130cm bathtub, cleverly concealed beneath the bed. This design eliminates the need for a bulky wet room, providing a space-saving solution that offers a truly unique and luxurious experience.

To heat the water, the van is fitted with an Imass instantaneous water boiler, one of the few gas-safe compliant units on the market, which supplies enough hot water for a bath on demand.

The design aesthetic perfectly complements the van’s vintage, rustic charm with bespoke brass plumbing fittings and a beautifully tiled surround for the bath.

For practicality, a convenient handheld shower head is also ready for use, and the cedar lid to the bath can be turned into a small shower enclosure.

Iveco Daily Campervan Bath with Shower Screen

An ingenious hatch door opens the bathtub up through the rear doors, giving you the option of bathing with scenic views over valleys and hills.

For even more practicality, an outdoor shower is also mounted in the rear garage.

The van holds a generous 110 litres of fresh water—enough for one bath and a full day of cooking and washing up. A 60-litre waste tank is on board, this means that, when emptying the bath, the water is simply allowed to flow out onto the ground. The owner is strict about only using natural cleaning products, ensuring the process is eco-friendly.

Looking ahead, there are plans for a rooftop supply to triple the water capacity, with the potential to use rain as a water source.

Kitchen

This kitchen is where rustic craftsmanship meets modern function. The linear layout showcases a stunning live-edge worktop, creating an immersive, bohemian culinary space.

The design details are standout. A unique patina copper basin with a matching high-arched tap is set against a beautiful tiled splashback with a patina-effect finish.

Appliances are both stylish and practical, including a Thetford Triplex campervan oven and a sage-green Swan retro fridge with a freezer compartment, ensuring you have everything you need to cook on the road.

Meal prep is made simple with a cleverly designed prep station. This space-saving solution, along with integrated storage for cutlery and chopping boards, plus a large bin, makes the kitchen highly practical for vanlife.

Storage

  • ↠ Ample storage with bespoke cupboard storage.
↠ Ingenius drawers that double-up as steps to the bed.
    ↠ Over-cab storage.
    ↠ Rear garage storage area.

The storage in this build has a genius design ethos: to maximise space and an open feel by avoiding overhead cabinets. All storage is located at or below waist level, which preserves the airy atmosphere of the cedar-clad cabin.

Throughout the conversion, bespoke cupboards and drawers provide ample room for all your essentials. The beautifully crafted steps to the fixed bed are an especially clever solution, with each doubling as a drawer.

The large rear garage beneath the fixed bed offers a substantial area for stowing bulky adventure gear.

Lighting

Vanart have designed the lighting in this conversion to enhance its rustic, cabin-like feel.

Recessed spotlights are positioned strategically at ceiling level, creating a warm, focused glow throughout the interior.

Additional spotlights beneath the bed illuminate the unique bath area, while floor-level lighting highlights the beautiful herringbone flooring.

This multi-level lighting scheme not only provides functional light but also accentuates the rich wooden textures, creating a cosy and inviting ambiance.

Heating & Insulation

  • ↠ “Little Lenny” multi-fuel wood-burning stove.
    ↠ Diesel heater.

The heating in this conversion is thanks to “Little Lenny” multi-fuel wood-burning stove from Little Burners. This compact and efficient stove is the heart of the van, providing a deep, radiant heat that perfectly complements the rustic aesthetic.

Designed for practicality on the road, it features a lockable ash pan for safe travel and easy cleaning, as well as an airflow control dial for precise temperature management.

The cast-iron style with a viewing window adds to the cosy ambiance. It is also highly functional, with a top surround that can conveniently hold a saucepan or kettle, making it a truly multi-purpose feature.

This is complemented by a 12V diesel heater – for low power, instant heat at the flick of a switch.

Other Features

This van surprises with a truly unique and playful feature: a rope swing fitted above the side door! Sticking true to their “your wish is our command” promise, Vanart are the kind of creative partners who can turn any vanlife dream into a reality.

It’s the perfect spot to relax with a cup of tea, with the side door open to blur the lines between inside and out. This whimsical, bohemian addition perfectly captures the fun and creative spirit of this van build.

Premium Camper Van with Off-Grid Capability

The campervan is equipped with a reliable and straightforward 12V electrical system, designed for basic off-grid living. The system is centred around a Topband LiFePO4 lithium battery, known for its long lifespan and efficiency.

Power is primarily generated by a 240W solar panel mounted on the roof. This feeds into an MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) device, which optimises the power coming from the solar panel to efficiently charge the battery. This setup provides a solid foundation for running essential appliances.

For cooking and heating, the system relies on a Calor gas supply. This approach keeps the electrical demand low, allowing the 12V solar system to handle lighting, charging devices, and other small electronics without strain. The combination of a focused 12V electrical system and a separate gas supply for high-demand appliances makes this a good, practical system for life on the road.

FAQs About Iveco Daily Conversions

What are the main benefits of an Iveco Daily for a campervan conversion?

The Iveco Daily is an excellent choice due to its heavy-duty, truck-like chassis, which provides a robust and reliable foundation for campervans.

It is also renowned for its generous internal height, allowing for more standing room and extra space for creative designs like the concealed bathtub (2100mm compared to 1974mm in a Mercedes Sprinter campervan).

And finally, this is typically a more affordable base vehicle than a comparable premium van such as a Mercedes Sprinter conversion. This cost-effectiveness, combined with its reputation for durability and longevity in heavy commercial use, makes it a smart choice for long-term vanlife.

Do you need a special license to drive an Iveco Daily campervan in the UK?

For this specific model, the answer is no. The ’35S’ in the model name (DAILY 35S14B AUTO 35S12V) indicates a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 3,500kg. This means it can be driven on a standard UK B license without the need for any additional special license.

For most Iveco Daily motorhomes, a standard UK B license is sufficient, as they typically have a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 3,500kg or less.

However, some heavier models exceed this weight, which would require a C1 license. It is always important to check the specific van’s GVW to be certain.

Is a bathtub a practical feature to have in a campervan?

While a bathtub is a rare and unique feature, this conversion proves it can be practical. The bath is cleverly concealed, which means it doesn’t take up precious floor space when not in use. It allows for a welcome luxury without compromising the van’s overall functionality or comfort.

However, there are a number of considerations.

A bathtub requires a significant amount of water, which will rapidly deplete your fresh water supply and fill your waste tanks, requiring more frequent stops to refill and empty. Heating that volume of water also requires a lot of energy.

Most importantly, a full tub of water adds a considerable amount of weight to the van, which can impact your overall payload capacity and handling, making it a feature best used sparingly on the road.

Is it safe to have a log burner in a campervan?

A log burner can be a safe and efficient heating source in a campervan, but only when the kit is professionally and correctly installed. This includes proper heat shielding, adequate ventilation, and a secure flue.

Additionally, it is absolutely essential to have a functioning carbon monoxide alarm and a fire extinguisher or fire blanket nearby. Only using the right, dry wood will also help prevent dangerous creosote buildup in the flue.
