This Sprinter Campervan’s Interior is a Digital Nomad’s Dream

With its dual workspaces for productivity, a lounge set-up perfect for cinematic evenings, and a sleek, fully-equipped shower room, Koru from Bobil Vans is the dream van for a digital nomad couple.

Designed for seamless transitions between work, relaxation, and adventure, this Mercedes Sprinter redefines what it means to live and work on the road.

But Koru is more than a campervan—it’s a symbol of movement, harmony, and fresh beginnings, just like the Māori-inspired meaning behind its name.

Let’s explore what makes this van such an inspiring home on wheels…

Custom Campervan Interior Design

The interior of Koru perfectly marries functionality with a serene aesthetic. The colour scheme of soft teal tones and natural accents is giving all the zen vibes.

Natural wood finishes, such as the beautiful oak countertops, add warmth, and balance the cooler hues of the cabinetry.

We don’t see cladding or wood panelling as often as we used to, but the crisp, white gloss cladding in this build reflects light beautifully, enhancing the sense of space.

Furthermore, it’s the subtle touches, like the exposed brass fixings, that truly make our hearts sing.

With these subtle details, Bobil Vans have elevated the interior to something truly special.

Luxury Van Conversion Layout

The Koru camper conversion layout maximises functionality and flow, ensuring every inch of floor space serves a purpose.

Starting at the front, the swivel captain’s seats integrate seamlessly with a removable swivel table, creating workspace #1. Workspace #2 – a cube-style seating area with a table – easily converts into a comfortable sofa, perfect for lounging or movie nights.

Moving back, the luxurious layout features a full shower cubicle with a concealed toilet, and wardrobe storage.

On the opposite side, the spacious kitchen is equipped with ample countertop space, including an extension for additional prep room, and plenty of storage options, such as overhead cabinets, drawers, wine rack, and a pantry.

At the rear, the fixed east-to-west bed provides a cosy sleeping area, while underneath, a large garage space offers storage for adventure gear.

This thoughtful layout creates a harmonious flow from front to back, balancing practicality and comfort.

Seating & Sleeping

The seating and sleeping arrangements in this campervan have been designed with durability and comfort in mind, creating a space that feels practical yet cosy.

At the front, the swivel seats rotate to create a versatile living area, with a removable table that serves as a workspace.

Moving into the main lounge, the cube-style seating might look unassuming at first glance, but it cleverly transforms into a comfortable sofa.

The rear of the van features a fixed bed, positioned east to west. This accommodates a 1.5M x 1.9M custom mattress, made possible thanks to the extra extra width provided by colour matched side flares.

We can’t not talk about the ingenious sofa-style seating in this campervan.

Simply lower the table and extend the built-in footrests, and voilà—a super lounge-worthy setup! We saw a similar design in this Ford Transit camper and we love it. To top it off, there’s a built-in projector screen, making this the perfect spot for movie nights on the road.

Plumbing & Bathroom

The bathroom setup in this Sprinter campervan is a masterclass in clever and efficient design—no surprise, given Bobil Vans‘ expertise in sourcing innovative and practical solutions for self-build projects.

The durable full-sized shower cubicle is a standout feature, offering the luxury of long, indulgent showers thanks to the 100-litre water tank.

And you’ll never be out of hot water! This van is fitted with the clever Bobil Calorifier Hybrid kit, which harnesses engine heat to provide hot water effortlessly, and the Bobil Air Hybrid, which runs from the Autoterm 4D diesel heater. Becoming an increasingly popular choice for vanlife, we also saw a calorifier in this luxury Mercedes Sprinter campervan.

Aesthetically, the white subway tile aesthetic adds a sleek, stylish feel, while the Simploo separating toilet cleverly slides away to maximise space when not in use.

A Maxxair shower fan ensures excellent ventilation, which is incredibly important to avoid humidity build-up.

From overhead compartments to hidden nooks, the storage options comfortably fit a wide range of needs, whether it’s stashing away larger adventure gear in the garage, or keeping kitchen essentials – and wine! – secure.

The lighting in this campervan is tailored to create a warm and functional atmosphere. Recessed ceiling spotlights and integrated lighting on the skylights provide overall illumination, ideal for cooking or working. Lighting inside cabinets is a nice extra touch too.

In the sleeping area, adjustable reading lights ensure you can unwind with a book or adjust the ambiance to your preference. Additionally, we love the ambient LED lighting in the master bed recess.

Heating & Insulation

This campervan’s heating system will make all-season travel a breeze.

The Autoterm Air 4D diesel heater is an excellent choice for campervans due to its robust performance and efficiency. Its fuel consumption ranges from 0.12 to 0.51 litres per hour, making it economical for extended use. It’ll also operate reliably in extreme temperatures, down to -45°C.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van Exterior

There is no paint customisation here – the unassuming white van paintwork has been left as is, but there are some subtle enhancements to the exterior, including slider windows, skylights, colour-coded side flares, awning, alloy wheels, and a retractable step.

Windows & Ventilation

Flush-fit sliders with privacy glass in the living area provide excellent airflow without compromising privacy, whilst the slim privacy-glass slider in the bedroom ensures ventilation at night.

Together with the strategic placement of vents, this setup will keep the van airy and fresh, perfect for both hot summer days and chilly winter evenings.

Skylights

The skylights are a central feature of this campervan, bringing natural light and ventilation to the forefront of its design.

The two Maxxair fans in the living area ensure optimal airflow, making the space feel fresh and inviting no matter the weather.

Above the bed, an additional Dometic Midi Heki rooflight adds a touch of luxury, allowing stargazing on clear nights or filling the bedroom with daylight during the day.

Together, these skylights create a bright, airy, and comfortable interior atmosphere.

Wheels

We see them over and over again – alloys from Rogue Alloy – and it’s no surprise, they’re vanlife favourites! This camper has had an awesome wheel upgrade, with the addition of CC1 Satin Black alloys.

Other Exterior Upgrades

The exterior upgrades on this campervan not only enhance functionality but also improve usability and comfort during outdoor adventures.

The Thule retractable step offers easy access to the van, while the awning creates a shaded outdoor space, perfect for relaxing or dining al fresco.

The addition of colour-matched side flares maximises interior sleeping space by extending the width of the van, providing a more comfortable experience without compromising the sleek exterior design.

Off-Grid Capability

This LWB campervan’s off-grid power system is thoughtfully designed for sustainable living and energy independence.

The 300W solar panels, paired with a Renogy 12V 30A DC to DC charger with MPPT, ensure efficient solar energy capture and battery charging while on the move.

A 460Ah Fogstar Drift lithium battery provides reliable, long-lasting power storage, while the 2000W Renology inverter charger powers appliances with ease.

Finally, a 20-litre underslung gas bottle completes the set-up – this is solely for efficient cooking, since heated water comes from the Bobil Calorifier Hybrid kit, which harnesses engine heat.

Together, these features make the van perfectly suited for off-grid adventures without compromising comfort or functionality.
